Artist's Notes

Bryan's Dad told me about a small grass airport in New Fairfield called Candlelight Farms, where there is a 1941 WWII open cockpit, bi-wing plane. Bryan has flown in the plane, and absolutely loves it. Who wouldn't want to photograph a boy and an airplane? But as luck would have it, it was a rainy day when we met for the photographs. We learned the plane was kept in a hangar that had a large door that we could open. So, Peggy and Tim Preston of Candlelight Farms helped us move the plane around and we took some photographs with Bryan on the wing showing the open cockpit. I chose this photograph of Bryan because of his vibrant smile and the way the "V" in the wing points toward him.
