Artist's Notes

Erika loves to dance. It's her favorite thing to do in the whole world. Her Mom told me about several different costumes she has from past recitals. We decided to use a simpler costume. having photographed many dancers, I know how busy some of the costumes can be. I love this classic ballet look with the deeper background and the lighter costume. It has a backstage feel to it. Erika has so much energy, so we tried many poses. This simple pose is my favorite. Her expression and pose work together perfectly.
